Web Concept & Creation
October 21st, 2008Is Your Posse Peaceful?
For the Peaceful Poses website, I worked with designer Alexa Corcoran in Frontpage to create a site that was simple and warm, yet also playful and fun! On an ahem, modest budget. As the yoga market is 90% women, we felt comfortable using plucky silhouettes and a purple-based color scheme.
Some special features included:
- Fun yoga-inspired phrases rotating in corners (Want to see more? View all the rotating yogi-phrases on the site.)

Everybody Needs A Little Breathing Room
We chose Flywheel Studio in Durham, NC to help design the Breathing Room site. For Breathing Room, we needed the site to be both inviting and accessible, but also professional and polished as the studio also includes a large retail section and coffee bar.
It was important that visitors felt a sense of spaciousness, peace, and of course, breathing room, as they spent time on the site.
The site brought a unique twist (pun intended!) to such sections as:
- Home - A Flash-based landing page with rotating images
- News - A stylish, yet easy page to post updated news and events
- Classes - A page focused on the schedule while still providing additional links for more information)
- Contact - Form to collect additional information from the visitor
To move the site from “information only” to a direct sales channel, we partnered with a third-party web resource to allow customers to sign up for a course online. Implementing this technology involved customization work as well as schedule population and ongoing maintenance.
